Newton's third law of motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means that whenever one object exerts a force on another object, the second object exerts a force of equal magnitude but in the opposite direction on the first object. In the example of pushing against a wall, when you apply a force to the wall, the wall applies an equal force back on you. This is why you do not move the wall, as the forces are balanced.
